Gordon Curry, 85, of Punta Gorda formerly of Birmingham, MI passed away January 30, 2007. He was born August 18, 1921 in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada to Henry and Alfreda Curry. Gordon grew up in England and came to the US with his family at age 16. He served in the Air Force as a Lieutenant and bombardier during WWII in Europe. Gordon joined the Burroughs Corporation in Detroit, Michigan as a mail room employee and rose to the position of Southwest Region Vice President which he retired after 41 years in 1981. Gordon loved golf, tennis, sailing, reading and especially his wife and daughters and their families. His last several years were a struggle with his health which he always faced with determination and grace. He leaves us all with a legacy of family, love, integrity and honesty. Gordon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mona Dahl Curry; daughters, Linda Muir of Charlotte, MI and Cheryl Curry Karian of Houston, TX; grandchildren Dr. Stacey Layle of Suffolk, VA, Katie Layle Juday of Kalamazoo, MI, Andrew and Christina Karian of Houston, TX; great-grandchildren Amelia and Ethan Cho, Dayton, Jack and Will Juday. A private family services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 3 at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
