Gody Marcelin

Gody Marcelin, 15, of North Port died July 15, 2017. He was the son of Wilner and Elurette Marcelin, born January 7, 2002. He came to this area in 2010 from Bonita Springs. Gody played for the Pop Warner Port Charlotte Bandits, and PCHS Pirates football teams. Always wanting to take care of his family, Gody wanted to excel in football as a career. He had completed his freshman year at PCHS and was looking forward to being a sophomore and getting even more involved. Gody will be remembered for his big heart and ability to light up a room with his smile. He attended First Baptist Port Charlotte and FaithLife Church, and was very involved in Young Life. Gody lived with the purpose of serving Christ and encouraged others to do the same. He had recently desired to become a youth pastor. Gody will be greatly missed by his mother, Elurette Marcelin; sisters, ChiChi, Christy, Gwen, and Tina; brothers, Wilner, Jr., Kevin, and Widner; godmother, Venise Luders; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. The service in celebration of Gody's life will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 29 at First Baptist Church Port Charlotte.
