Gerard "Jerry" Williams

Gerard J. "Jerry" Williams, Sr., 91, of Punta Gorda passed away April 11, 2013. He was born July 6, 1921 in Harrison, NJ. He served as a Naval Aviator in the US Navy during WWII. Jerry worked for Prudential Insurance Co., including 18 years in the Canadian head office. While living in Canada, he spent his spare time at Jack's Lake with his wife and family. Fishing was his favorite pastime. He returned to Pennsylvania and retired from Prudential as Vice President after 47 years of service. He moved to Florida in 1988. Jerry was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus, and served as a volunteer for AARP Tax-Aide. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church . Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife of 69 years, Frances; daughters, Kathleen (Ray) Woodward of Apsley, Ontario and Susan McCullion of Telford, PA; two sons, Gerard Williams of Westampton, NJ, and Robert Williams (deceased); sister Margery Henzler of Toms River, NJ; 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. The service in celebration of Gerard's life will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
