Gerald D. Hunt

Jerry Hunt, 77 of Punta Gorda, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 23rd, 2020, surrounded by family. 

He was born to parents Clair and Florene Hunt, on April 21st, 1943 in Los Angeles, California. Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1962 where his calling to Engineering began. His career as a technical engineer spanned over 30 years and brought him to Colorado where he married the love of his life Cindy in 1987 who survives him. Four daughters – Michelle, Wendy, Sara, and Kristin, also survive him. He was a proud grandfather of his grandchildren, Sean, Scott, Hannah, and Tyler, as well as his great-granddaughter Leia. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone. 

Jerry shared his Christian faith through volunteering with his church family through his local Community Outreach Center and enjoyed lending a helping hand. He believed the best way to have good neighbors was to be one and was always happy to dive into projects and provide solutions to assist with the needs of his friends and neighbors. Jerry was an avid woodworker, kayak enthusiast, and boater.   

He spent his final weeks witnessing about the importance of faith and the peace it brings knowing Christ is with you always to all he met.  

No formal memorial services will be held. Jerry could think of no greater joy than serving his Lord in Heaven and desired that his life be celebrated not mourned.
