Gary F. Newman

Gary F. Newman, 68, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on July 8, 2020. He was born on February 14, 1952, to Eugene and Lorraine Newman in Neptune, NJ.  Gary grew up in Springlake, NJ, and graduated from Manasquan High, class of 1970.

Gary honorably served in the United States Army, retiring in 1991.  He was a member of the Goodwill Fire Co. #2 in Spring Lake, NJ. and became a member of the American Legion in Punta Gorda upon retiring in 2016 and relocating from Colorado.  Growing up, Gary was an avid surfer and always enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.  He will be fondly remembered by all for his endless conversations and genuine kindness towards others.

Gary will be deeply missed by his mother Lorraine D. Garth; sons Chris and Justin Newman; and brothers Eugene E. Newman Jr. and Jeffrey Newman.  He was preceded in death by his father Eugene.
