Frank H. Shaddock was the son of Frank R. and Florence Shaddock, born November 7, 1927 in Miami, Florida. He was proud to be a fourth generation Floridian. Frank served in the US Army Security Agency during WWII; he was stationed in Germany listening to Morse code messages being sent by the Germans. In 1950, he got his "best birthday present ever," when he married Helen on November 7. They lived in Miami until 1967 when they moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to Helen's family. 1977 found them moving to Port Charlotte, Florida. He worked for American Sterilizer (now Steris) servicing medical and operating room equipment in hospitals from Sarasota to Naples. Frank faithfully served his Lord in many capacities through the years. He had been part of the Yokefellow Prison Ministry in the federal penitentiary in Atlanta; taught Sunday School for many years; and helped start the Punta Gorda (FL) Alliance Church and another church in Marco Island, FL. He loved telling jokes and his sense of humor remained, even as the Alzheimer's progressed and his health declined. Frank passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Tuesday, July 11, 2017; he was 89 years old. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Marian (Larry) Taylor; grandchildren, Candy Frey (Richard Skinner), Robert (Becky)Taylor, Rachel (Tyler) Elgersma, and Jay Taylor; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in by his beloved wife of 61 years, Helen. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services with the service in celebration of Frank's life beginning at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice.
