Flora "Mimi" Casi, 102, of Punta Gorda passed away Friday, November 18, 2011. She was the daughter of William and Ida (Ciuti) Caruso, born on September 16, 1909 in Newark, NJ. Flora "Mimi" as she was known by her family and friends, enjoyed cooking, music, dancing and gardening . She was very active in real estate into her late eighties, walked 3-4 miles a day well until her nineties and danced until midnight on her 100th birthday. Mimi will be remembered for loving her family and her "joie de vivre." Mimi will be greatly missed by her daughter, Lilian (Max) Stein of Punta Gorda; son, Paul Casi, Sr (Joan) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Cara Hawkins, Paul II, Michele, John and Nicole Casi; seven great-grandchildren and a brother, John (Pat) Caruso of CT. She was preceded in death by husband, Aldo Casi and grandson, John A DiLustro. A memorial mass will be at 11:00 am, Friday, January 6, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
