Fernando A. Lara, 74, of Port Charlotte passed away December 12, 2006. He was born November 7, 1932 in Dominican Republic. Fernando was a retired assembly worker for the Vicor Corporation and moved to Port Charlotte in 2000 from Lawrence, MA. He was a member of the Cultural Center and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Fernando helped after Hurricane Charley by bringing clothes and supplies to the Cultural Center to be distributed to those in need. He enjoyed gardening, relaxing in his pool, and his dog, Beauty. His greatest enjoyment and love was his children and family. Fernando will be greatly missed by his wife of 40 years, Carmen; daughters, Kia Lara of Boston, MA, Vidalia Lara and Nancy Zayas, both of Lawrence, MA and Miriam Yera of Percevil, VA; sons, Dean, Anthony, Nino, David, David, Jose, ChiChi, Eric, and Frank Lara, and all from Lawrence, MA; brother, Dionesio Lara of the Dominican Republic; sister, Ophelia Lara of Dominican Republic; twenty-seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Lawrence, MA at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 21475 St. Petersburg, FL 33742 Attention: Memorials.
