Eugene J. Gentile

Eugene J Gentile, 84, of Punta Gorda passed away July 25, 2011. He was the son of Joseph and Marie (Brazel) Gentile, born March 25, 1927 in Paterson, NJ. Gene came to this area from Savannah, GA in 1991. He spent 21 years in the US Air Force. He retired as a civilian employee after 30 years of service with the Marine Corp. Air Station in Buford, SC as an Electronic Tech for navigational equipment. Gene was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, US Power Squadron, and American Legion Post 103. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Gene enjoyed boating and flying. Gene will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Laura; brother, Edward (Joyce) Gentile of Hamburg, NJ; and sister, Joan (Robert) Klein of Camp Hill, PA; and 16 beloved nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice, 1144 Veronica St, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
