Emma I. Waid

Emma I. Waid, 85, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014. She was the daughter of Earl and Marie Dorcy, born March 18, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Emma served in the US Air Force. She was a homemaker and loved spending time taking care of her family. Emma was a active member with New Hope Christian Friendship Church. She enjoyed camping and traveling all over the United States with her husband and family. Emma will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Emma will be greatly missed by her daughters, Carol Farias and Debbie Hammond; son, Raymond Waid; grandchildren, Charlie, Johnny, Lisa, Sarah, Shayne, Jamie Ray and Christopher; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Philip. A memorial service to celebrate Emma's life will be held at 3pm, Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation.
