Betty (Van Ostenbridge) Ten Brink, 70, of Englewood, FL passed away February 6, 2006 after a year long battle with cancer. She was born November 13, 1935 in Paterson, NJ to Aaron and Mini Van Ostenbridge. Betty moved to Englewood in 2001 from Missouri, having lived for 34 years in Columbia and Kirksville. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Betty was a devout and active Christian who displayed her faithfulness to the very end through her testimony and caring witness. She was a member of Gulf Cove United Methodist Church, and was a past Chairperson of the Stonecroft Christian Women’s Club for the Kirksville and Englewood Chapters. Betty will be greatly missed by her husband, Terry Ten Brink; daughters, Sue (Mark) Townsend of St. Paul, MN and Jill (Stephen) Applegate of Versailles, KY; son, Doug Ten Brink of Clearwater, FL; sisters, Wilma Tuit of Bradenton and Janet (Dave) Zinn of Kalamazoo, MI; brother John (Daryl) Van Ostenbridge of Bradenton; and 6 granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Helen Teitsma and Mae Van Ostenbridge; and brother, Aaron Van Ostenbridge. A memorial service in celebration of Betty’s life will be at 4:00 pm Sunday, February 26 at the Gulf Cove United Methodist Church.
