Edwin Joseph Zutter

Edwin Joseph Zutter, 73, passed away on August 31, 2009 in Punta Gorda, Florida. He was the son of Walter and Lottie (Motyl) Zutter, born June 25, 1936 in Norway, NY. He was a 1954 graduate of West Canada Valley Central School in Middleville, NY. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Edwin married Carol Loefler on February 20, 1960 in Ilion, NY. He worked as a gunsmith for Remington Arms Co. in Ilion for over 31 years. He retired in 1993 and moved to Port Charlotte where he worked in Wal-Mart until his health prevented him from working any further. He moved to Punta Gorda in 2005. Edwin will be greatly missed by his wife, Carol; sons, Steven of Port Charlotte and Robert of Ilion, NY; daughters, Sandra (James) Melo of Punta Gorda and Beth Anne Hartt of Port Charlotte; grandchildren, Kayla Jones, Steven Zutter, Jr., Andrea Zutter, and Jaimie Melo; a sister-in-law and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Walter, and several aunts and uncles. A memorial mass will be held Friday, September 4, 2009 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
