Edward W. Reed, 51 of Punta Gorda formerly of New Gretna, NJ passed away March 16, 2009. He was born December 21, 1957 in Harrisburg, PA to Charlie Reed and Joan Ryan. Ed moved to Southern New Jersey area at age of 7 and attended Southern Regional High School. He was truly a jack of all trades and was always ready and able to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. This is what inspired him to move to Florida in 2005 after Hurricane Charlie damaged the homes of family and friends. Ed enjoyed fishing and most of his free time on the water with his brother in law John "Mac" MacDonald. He will be remembered as an adored son, beloved brother, devoted father and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. Ed will be truly missed by his daughters, Charity (Tom) Smith of Egg Harbor, NJ, Angela (Dale) Staropoli of Vineland and his "brown eyed girl" Misty Reed (Neil Sullick) of Marmora; granddaughters, Franchesca and Giovanna Staropoli; sisters, Kathy Gutzler (John MacDonald) of Punta Gorda and Maryanne (Chip) Poulton of Tampa, FL, brother Bob (Jean) Reed of Millville, NJ; a very special aunt, Laddie Clark of Port Charlotte; wife, Gracie Michele and 2 step-daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Scott and Terry. A celebration of Ed's life will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 20, 2009 at 3231 Magnolia Way, Punta Gorda.
