Edward "Ed" Reno, Jr., 85 of Punta Gorda, FL passed away Tues. March 26, 2013. He was born May 1, 1927 in Jersey City, NJ to Anastasia (nee Tobin) and Edward J. Reno Sr. Ed served in the US Navy Air Force during WWII and then in the reserves until July of 1954. He was in the investment field for his entire working career, first at the New York Trust Company on Wall Street and then with the New York State Teachers Retirement system in Albany, NY. After retiring in 1994, he moved to Florida spending most of his retirement in Punta Gorda. Ed was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda and St. Andrews South Golf Club. He enjoyed going golfing and fishing especially in Islamorada, FL. Ed will be greatly missed by his sister, Florence Grey; granddaughter, Lindsey; great-grandson, Caiden; nieces, Denise Kissane, Gerry Argentina and Michelle Heiss; nephews, Tom Reno and Bob Reno. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 53 years, Betty in 2004 and son, Cliff in 1999. A memorial mass will be at 11 am, Friday, April 12, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda with Father Jerry officiating.
