Dwight W. Nickerson

Dwight William Nickerson, 81, of Port Charlotte passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He was the son of E. Guy and Marian (nee Sperry) Nickerson, born August 9, 1931 in Caribou, Maine. Dwight served in the US Navy during the Korean War and he was a retired candy maker. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Congregational United Church of Christ. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 49 years Marie; brother, Wayne (Marilyn) of Enfield, CT; sons, Guy S. Nickerson of Manchester, Ct, Joseph W (Dory) of Hollyoke, MA and Daniel A. Norfolk, VA; daughter, Sandra K. Dizon of Norfolk, VA; step-sons, Wayne S. (Elaine) Martin of Windsor, Ct and John W. (Daria) of Jacksonville, FL; step-daughters, Cheryl A. (Kendall) Brown of MI and Sonna M. Cameron of Pt Charlotte, FL; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, David. A memorial service to celebrate Dwight's life will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Congregational United Church of Christ, 1201 Aqui Esta Dr., Punta Gorda.
