Donna Elizabeth Maglicco (nee Dawson), 59, of Port Charlotte passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Born Feb. 4, 1947 in Braddock, Pa., to the late Joseph and Florence Elizabeth Dawson, she was an honors graduate of Scott High in 1965. Donna worked in the children’s department of the Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh, Pa and as a receptionist for Westinghouse in Turtle Creek, Pa. In 1974 she moved to Weirton, WV, and worked for the Milsop Community Center for several years. Donna worked in retail sales at Kmart in Steubenville, Ohio, Weirton, Port Charlotte and Fort Myers. She continued her work for Kmart in Fort Myers until employment as a department manager at Winn Dixie, where she became part of the Store No. 737 family and gained several close friendships. She will be missed by her daughter, Dawn Maglicco Deitch of Philadelphia; son, Keith Maglicco, of Irwin, PA; brothers, George Dawson, of Plum, PA and James Dawson, of Salem, Mass.; a niece and three nephews; along with several special friends who cared for her during her illness. A celebration of her life will be held 12:00 - 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 23 at 22335 Augusta Avenue in Port Charlotte. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County, 3519 Drance St., Port Charlotte, Fl 33980, in her name.
