Donald Joseph "Don" Stack, Sr., 81, of Punta Gorda passed away on March 26, 2016. He was born June 1934 in Everett, MA to Charles M.A. and Doris E. Stack. Don joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and was a Korean War veteran. After completing his military service, Don worked for the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority. In 1982, after 25 years with the MBTA, Don retired and moved his family to Punta Gorda. He became a bus driver for Charlotte County Schools and retired after 25 years. Don will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Ann Marie; daughter, Kimberley (Gary) Millwater of Venice; sons, D.J. (Michael) Stack of Orlando and Chuck (Rita) Stack of Port Charlotte; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Claire Lindquist and Bonnie Logue; brother, Charlie Stack and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jane Topel all of Massachusetts. A celebration of life will be held at 4pm, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the American Legion Post 103, 2101 Taylor Rd. Punta Gorda. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his memory. Arrangements are by Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation.
