Donald F. Grogan

Donald F. Grogan, 89, of Port Charlotte passed away October 26, 2009. He was the son of Carl and Cecelia (Campbell) Grogan, born October 26, 1920 in Pontiac, Michigan. Donald served in the US Navy during WWII and worked for Chrysler Corp. in Highland Park, Michigan for 40 years with the title of Design Leader in the engine design department upon retiring. He was a recorder and 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. Donald was a member of South Port Square Computer Club and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a history buff, coin collector, enjoyed photography, traveling and singing. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 14-1/2 years, Shirley; daughters, Maureen (Ron) Omans of Spring Arbor, MI, Joanne M. of Southfield, MI, Sister Maria Carmen, RSM of Rome, Italy; step-daughter, Denise Spriggs of Port Charlotte; sons, Donald P. (Aleida) Grogan of Ypsilanti, MI, Daniel J. Grogan of Sterling Heights, MI, James R. Grogan of Detroit, MI; step-sons, Maurice Aguinaldo of Sarasota and Bruce (Dianne) Aguinaldo of Laguna Beach, CA; sisters, Leila Janczarek of Plymouth, MI, Margaret Maher of W. Bloomfield, MI and Cecelia (Mike) McClure of Brighton, MI; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Friday, October 30, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book.
