Donald E. Wilson, 86, of Port Charlotte passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013. He was the son of Hugh and Kathryn (nee Currie) Wilson, born March 23, 1927 in Rozel, Kansas. Donald graduated from San Diego State University. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ. As a family man, he enjoyed spending time with them and traveling over the United States, especially to state parks. Donald will be remembered for having an easy going personality with a great since of humor, who loved telling stories to family and friends. Donald will be greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Maxine; daughters, Cheri Koronkwicz of Kona, HI, Joy (Michael) Ragusa of Hamden, CT, Julie Silk of Oxford, CT and Jill Sarracco of Ansonia, CT; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Wilson of Naugatuck, CT; brother, Delmer (Audrey) Wilson of Moreno Valley, CA; sisters, Dorothy Woodward and Elizabeth Woodward both of Cedar Falls, IA; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark. A service to celebrate Donald's life will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Port Charlotte. Inurnment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Pilgrim United Church of Christ or Tidewell Hospice.
