Donald E. Rosn, 90, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday, September 4, 2011, the day after sharing his 69th wedding anniversary with his wife, Mary Franklin Rosn. Don was born Jan 19, 1921 in Janesville, WI to Peg and Ray Rosn. In 1942, he graduated from University of Wisconsin with a B.S. degree in Chemistry and served in the US Army during WWII. He worked as a bio-agricultural chemist with E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co for 35 yrs in Wilmington, DE. He was a member of the Masons since 1964 and earned the certificate of Past Most Wise Master from Wilmington Chapter of Rose Croix, 18 degree, as a presiding officer from 1979 to 1980. Don will be remembered with great joy and love by his wife, Mary; son, Randall Franklin (Charlotte) Rosn of Punta Gorda, FL; daughter, Muffy (Leo, Jr.) Owens of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Tracy Rosn, Megan Owens Imhausen, Marjorie Owens Kelsey and Leo Owens, III.; sister, Joan Leicht of Green Bay, WI; sister in law, Margaret Rosn of Nantucket, MA; and his dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clyde and grandchild, Randall Emery Rosn. A gathering of friends will be at 10:00 am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am, Friday, September 9, 2011 at Hope Lutheran Church, 14200 Hopewell Avenue, Port Charlotte, FL. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville, WI. Memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice, Inc (Philanthropy Department) 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238 or American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
