Dolores H. Powell

Dolores H. Powell, 85, of Punta Gorda passed away May 2, 2006. She was born August 3, 1920, to Theodore and Myrtle (Miller) Palmer in Chicago, IL. Dolores went to her Lord. She was the third of four girls, who grew up in Chicago, before moving to California in her late 30’s. Dolores was a waitress for most of her working life, although she did some factory work as well. After retiring, she lived for several years in Las Vegas, enjoying the casinos greatly. She came to Florida to live with her son, Dennis, in 1993. Dolores enjoyed knitting, sewing and playing cards. Dolores will be missed by sons Dennis Kolak of Punta Gorda, Steve Kolak of California, Gerald Kolak and Norman Kolak both of Chicago; several grandchildren and great grandchildren in Florida, California and Illinois. She was preceded in death by her son Glenn Kolak; granddaughter Kathy Gallardo and sisters Violet Diesing and Verna. No services are planned at this time.
