Diane Rose Cochrane, born on February 1, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 85, ten days shy of her 86th birthday, at her home in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Diane attended Lourdes Academy for Girls and later began working at Diamond Shamrock in Concord, Ohio. It was there that she met Richard Leisman, whom she married on August 31, 1958. She raised a family in Willowick, Ohio, and filled her days with boy scouts, girl scouts, football and baseball and softball games, and took the family camping at Holiday Camplands in Andover.
A passionate advocate for women's rights, Diane was an active member of the National Organization for Women and cherished her involvement with her Consciousness Raising (CR) group, maintaining those meaningful relationships throughout her life. Known for her vibrant wit, her wonderfully snarky personality and social nature, Diane made a lasting impact on those around her, and had many friends.
Diane had a deep love for gardening and was known for her green thumb. However, nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her former spouse, Richard (Susann) Leisman, her children: Rick Leisman, Scott Leisman, Kelly (Leisman) (Jay) Weber, and Tracy (Leisman) (Doug) Krebs; her grandchildren: Jessica Sisson, Stephen Hostutler, Alex Weber, Ashley Weber, Aerin Krebs, and Sean Krebs; her great-grandchildren: Brody and Dylan Sisson; her sister Gail (Cochrane) (Jim) Dempsey; and her cousin Mary Kay "Katie" Calvert. Diane is preceded in death by her grandson Ethan Daniel and her parents Byron and Adeline (Lucas) Cochrane.
Honoring Diane's wishes, no memorial service will be held. She will be laid to rest alongside her grandson Ethan at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diane's name to the Ronald McDonald House in Cleveland, Ohio.
May Diane's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
