Delores Vickers Evans, 81, of Punta Gorda arrived safely and peacefully with the Lord on October 25, 2010. She was the second daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie (Dukes) Vickers, born January 13, 1929 in Elizabeth, NJ. She married Rodman Elwood Evans on June 21, 1946 in Bishopville, MD and moved to Fort Myers from Frankford, Delaware in November 1956, where she raised her family, worked for WINK TV, helped run the family’s service stations, worked for the Lee County School Board, Cole’s Heating and A/C, fed the neighbors and celebrated life each and every occasion. Delores was a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church and embraced her church family. She will be remembered as a consummate mother, always loving unconditionally, listening with her heart, never judging or questioning, trusting, giving and loved by all who had the pleasure. May your hearts be at peace in having known her and sharing her loving walk here with us. God Bless you mother, and all of us missing you. We can all hear God saying to her, “Job well done. Welcome Home.” Delores will be greatly missed by her children, Stephanie (Ismail) Kirmaci, Rhonda (Irwin) Berliner, Rodman (Heather) Evans, Brian (Barbie) Evans; son-in-law, John E. Cole; brother, Ronald Vickers of Millsboro, DE; grandchildren, Kent and Elyse Kirmaci, Rhiannon (Billy) Miller, Walter, Ian and Dustin (Kelly) Cole, Joshua, Mackenzie, Rodman and Chloe Evans and David Evans and great-granddaughters, Kaya, Kali and Ruby Miller.
