Debra A. Barton-Devens was the daughter of Theodore E. Barton, Sr. and Florence A. (Hughes) Barton, born October 9, 1954 in Newark, New Jersey. She was a casino supervisor in Atlantic City for 18 years, and came to Port Charlotte from Galloway Township, New Jersey in 2000. Debbie attended Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Englewood, Florida; active in her community, she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 113, the Lupus Foundation, and was involved with Manta Rays Football. Debbie passed away September 9, 2009 at the age of 54 and will be greatly missed by her husband of 26 years, Anthony Devens, Jr.; daughters, Lisa Marie (Cincotta) Hambel of Galloway Township, New Jersey and Natalie F. Devens of Lampeter, Pennsylvania; son, Nicholas Barton Devens of Port Charlotte; sisters, Renee Melfa of Laurence Harbor, New Jersey, Denise Barton of Tuckerton, New Jersey, Cherise Mietellio of Passaic, New Jersey, and Sherry Pecoraro of Garfield, New Jersey; and four granddaughters, Sera, Sandy, and Amanda Hambel, and Arissa Devens; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepsister, Mae Rugris, and brother, Theodore Barton II.
