Deanna Kathryn Ogden, 74, of Punta Gorda Florida, went to be with the angels peacefully the morning of February 27, 2017, at Tidewell Hospice, Port Charlotte, FL, after a short but hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Baltimore, Maryland 10/09/1942, to the late Leo and Amelia Hogan she was the youngest of three girls. She graduated from Eastern High School, and later was married to Bill, the love of her life, for the next 54 years. As a member of the Charlotte County Visual Arts Guild, she sharpened her skills as an artist with animals as her favorite subject, especially horses and dogs. She loved to travel, spending time with her family, listening to music, painting with her friends, and gardening. Kathy had several occupations but the most loved of her life was being a housewife and mother. Her family and friends remember her as having the longest and tightest hugs, most infectious smile, the best sense of humor, and the most loving heart. In addition to a host of friends and her husband Bill, Kathy will be greatly missed by her son Blaine Ogden and his wife Gail of Sissonville WV, and daughter Tiffany Husser and her husband John Husser of York PA. She also leaves behind two dearly loved grandsons, Luke and Chase Husser, who truly adored her, one Husser grand dog, and five Ogden grand kitties. Kathy is also survived by her sisters Pat Wernig and Husband Bill, of Street, MD, Nancy Hogan of Port Charlotte FL, and two nieces, Laura (Dave) Roman, and Kathy Wernig, two nephews, Bobby (Melanie) and Mike (Laura) Wernig. A gathering of friends and family will be held March 14th, at 10:00, at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services, Punta Gorda, with a service to celebrate Kathy's life to follow at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Tidewell Hospice 1144 Veronica Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33952 or to Peace River Wildlife Center 3400 W. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Kathy's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Bayfront Hospital, Punta Gorda, in addition to the nurses and staff at Tidewell Hospice, Port Charlotte for their heartfelt love, kindness, support and care to Kathy and the family during this difficult time.
