David Winkler

David Winkler, 66, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Sept. 19, 2017. He was the son of Joseph and Peggy Winkler, born July 19, 1951 in Charleston, WV. David was a retired chemist and worked for the Dept. of Environmental Protection. He was a past volunteer at the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County. David was an avid fisherman and reader. He enjoyed the challenge of a difficult crossword puzzle. He enjoyed visiting the Smoky Mountains and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. David will be greatly missed by his wife of 34 years; Joann; daughters, Kate Winkler and Emily (Robert) Crosby; son, Steven (Diane) Winkler; sister, Patricia (James) Berna; grandchildren, Bradley, Cassidy, Robbie and Rebecca. A service to celebrate David's life will be held at 11am, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
