David S Hardison

August 1, 1967 — January 2, 2013

David Hardison, our beloved son, brother and friend was taken by our Lord on January 2, 2013, after a short, but painful illness. David was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and great-uncle and his brother, sisters and great-nephews were with him this past weekend. Born at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, FL, in 1967, David traveled a lot with the family as we were assigned to military bases all over the country. He was an excellent student and star football player, who made lasting impressions on everyone he met with his infectious smile and generous heart. After graduation David did an apprenticeship at SUPSHIP Pascagoula, before serving in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation-Electrician on SH-15, USS Forrestal and SH-3 Helos, after which he went to work as an electrician for the U.S. Air Force on Johnston Atoll in the Pacific Ocean, where he suffered a serious injury which required back surgery and although he worked hard his whole life, was in constant pain. Although he was avid golfer, the injury prevented him from continuing. He is survived by his parents, Penny and Jim Deutsch, his brother Don Hardison, his sisters Sharon and Deborah Hardison, nephew Lincoln Hardison, great nephews Lincoln Jr., Billie and Alexsis Hardison, Don Hardison, Sr., girlfriend, Amy Corey and many aunts, uncles and cousins in OH, MA, VA, MS, LA, United Kingdom and Australia, and many, many dear friends who have called and sent cards. David will be sorely missed. David was preceded in death by his sister Lauri Hardison in 1983 and his grandfather in 2001. A remembrance of how David loved life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 7, 2013 Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. An avid fisherman, David's ashes will be scattered at Englewood Beach and Biloxi Beach, MS. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David's name to Tidewell Hospice, 1144 Veronica St, Port Charlotte, 33952
