David A. Collins, 53, of Port Charlotte passed away October 30, 2005 at Doctor’s Hospital in Sarasota with family and friends at his side. He was the son of Harold and Beverly (Taylor) Collins, born February 14, 1952 in Attleboro, MA. David served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He moved to Port Charlotte in 1979 and worked for Charlotte County Utilities, formerly General Development Utilities, for 21 years. David enjoyed the world of antiques, and was the owner of Abigail’s Antiques in Arcadia. He was a member of Port Charlotte Moose Lodge #2121 and St. James Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte. David will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 18 years, RoseAnne; parents, Harold and Beverly Collins of Harbour Heights; brothers, Steven (Maria) Collins of Cranston, RI and Russell Collins of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Karen (Vincent) Lokker of Port Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service in celebration of David’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 4 at St James Episcopal Church, 1365 Viscaya Drive, Port Charlotte.
