Darren Sperling

Darren Sperling, 42, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on October 28, 2019. He was born on October 20, 1977, to Lisa M. Sperling in Mahopac, NY.
Darren moved from New York to Englewood, FL when he was just 3 years old. He became an enthusiast of the outdoors and fishing the local waters growing up on the coast. He graduated from High School in 1996 and moved to Punta Gorda in 2009, dedicated to his career. Darren served as a Corrections Officer at the Charlotte County Correctional Facility for over 15 years and appreciated the structure and comradery within the facility.
Darren was a “gearhead” and loved working on cars since he was a teenager, even attending courses at the Charlotte Technical College to learn more about his passion. He always had a fondness for cars and motorsports, enjoying many hours on his 4-wheelers. He enjoyed fishing and going to the shooting range, especially when he was able to share those moments with his son Kyle. A busybody at heart, Darren was always working on new and old projects.
Darren will be deeply missed by his son Kyle. He is preceded in death by his parents.
