Daniel "Dan" Joseph Pisko, Sr. 82, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Barrington, NJ passed away April 11, 2015 after he fought and lost a courageous battle with multiple cancers. He was born June 18, 1932 in Pennsauken, NJ to Irving and Catherine Pisko. Dan graduated from Pennsauken High School. He proudly sent to sea to keep us safe, serving in the US Navy and reached the rank of Quartermaster Second Class in 1955. He received the National Defense Service Ribbon, UN Medal for Good Conduct, Navy Occupation Service Medal and a Korean Medal. Dan went on to work at multiple jobs to support his family including helping his father to install windows, odd jobs, delivering uniforms, working for UPS. He started his own business D.P. Maintenance for buying, fixing and selling homes and went on to running a large industrial park in Westville, NJ. Dan was an independent person always was fixing something that could not be fixed. He loved the sun, the outdoors and fishing especially with his close friend, Bob Lauber. Dan was a past President of the Sons of Italy in Camden, NJ. He retired to Port Charlotte, FL, where he has lived for the past 18 years. He is survived by his love of his life for the past 27 years, Priscilla Carroll who stood by him through all his years of battling cancer; step-sons, Charles (Sally) Dougherty of Malvern, PA and Michael Dougherty of NJ; daughters, Denise (Cip) Cipollone of Voorhees, NJ and Rita Reily of Williamstown, NJ; sons, Daniel Jr. (Dara) Pisko of St. Petersburg, FL, Arthur (Nancy) Pisko of Deptford, NJ; grandchildren, Kathleen, Brett, Eric, Katie, Michelle, Pasquale, Nicholas, Sharon, Daniel III (Deanna), Joseph V and Kristina and Arthur Jr.; sisters, Joan (Jim) Van Loben sels of Carmel, CA and Lillian (Joe) DeLuca of Cherry Hill, NJ; sister-in-law, Delores Pisko of CO along with his many cousins, especially "my cousin John" and Chris Stuebing. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Catherine Pisko and brother, Joseph Pisko. A celebration of life will be at 11:30am, Sunday, April 19, 2015 with a service to follow at 12:30 pm, at Schetter Funeral Home, Rt. 70, Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
