Daniel J. "Dan" Dugan, 72, of Port Charlotte passed away July 14, 2014. He was the son of Joseph James and Alice Jeanette (Ward) Dugan, born November 4, 1941 in Lorain, Ohio. Dan served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. As a young man, he sang with a group named, "Harmony." He came to this area from Philadelphia 20 years ago. Dan worked locally for A-1 Roofing, Wick's Lumber, and Gulf Contours. He was of the Catholic faith. Dan enjoyed golfing and fishing; he will be remembered for singing a "song of the day" each morning for his wife, Jet. Dan will be greatly missed by his wife of 12 years, Jeanette "Jet;" sons, Charles (Linda) Dugan and Michael Dugan; step-daughters, Constance (George) Nardi and Carolyn (Mark) Mellana; step-son, Richard (Cynthia) Finethy; grandchildren, Alex Dugan and Emily Dugan; step-grandchildren, Katherine and George Nardi, Ashley Finethy, Richard Finethy III, and Jonathan and Kendall Mellana; sister, Mary Alice (Thomas) Rouslin; and brother, Thomas (Jean) Dugan. The celebration of Dan's life will be held later in the fall. Memorial donations may be made to Animal Welfare League, 3519 Drance St, Port Charlotte, FL 33980.
