Dalton W. Smith-Jozefiak (DJ) 5/11/98-3/23/2019 IF WORDS CANT SPEAK MUSIC CAN Dalton was born May 11, 1998 in Port Charlotte Florida to Lisa M. Jozefiak and Luther W. Smith. Dalton is survived by his parents Lisa Maher (Jozefiak) and husband Stephen Maher and father Luther Smith. Dalton will be greatly missed by his maternal grandparents Dennis and Deniece Jozefiak. Dalton is loved by his Uncle Jeffery Jozefiak and Aunt Jacinda Jozefiak and his three cousins Jacey, Jaya and Jordyn. Great Grandfathers Michael Jozefiak, JR and William Jones will miss him greatly. He will be joining his Great Grandmothers Shirley Jones, Beatrice Jozefiak, Great Great Grandmother Elizabeth Jones and Uncle David Jozefiak. He is also survived by many Great Uncles and Aunts from Michigan, Florida, Germany and Kuwait, along with many cousins and friends. Dalton has been active in theater since fifth grade starting at Sallie Jones Elementary where he played King George. During that time, he was also in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat as part of the childrens choir at Charlotte High School and God Spell with the S.E.A.D. all of these were performed while he was in fifth grade. He moved onto Punta Gorda Middle School and was inducted into the Junior Thespian Society. He was involved in many plays and was a member of Troupe 99822 and he received a Superior Rating for his performance in 7th grade at Districts. Once in eighth grade he became a mentor to the incoming sixth graders. He moved onto Charlotte High School and was in varsity Choir and was inducted into the National Thespian Society with Troupe 9922 his Freshman year. He participated in many activities with the drama department and earned a Superior Rating his sophomore year at States. He was part of the elite Chorus-Charisma his sophomore year and earned a Superior Rating at MPA National Disney Competition. He remained with the Mens Choir and Varsity Choir all four years of high school. He received the Directors Award during his senior year. After graduation on May 2017, Dalton attended Florida Southwestern State College where he was a sophomore. During all the time he was involved in Middle School and High School activities he was also involved with the Charlotte Players where he was a camp counselor until he graduated high school. He was also involved in multiple plays during the summer from 6th grade through his senior year. Once he graduated, he spent the past two years as an Intern for the Charlotte Players. Services will be held Saturday March 30, 2019 at 10 AM at the Charlotte Players Langdon Play House at 1182 Market Circle Port Charlotte FL 33953. In lieu of flowers DJ would like you to make a donation to the Charlotte Players.
