D. Wayne Mcfarland

Those we Love never go away, They walk beside us everyday, Unseen, unheard but always near, Still loved still missed and very dear. D. Wayne McFarland, 90, of Port Charlotte passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012. He was the son of Leroy and Ruby (Boston) McFarland, born April 7, 1922 in Virden, IL. He moved from Springfield, IL to this area in 1960 and was a Pastor and a member of the Sonshine Baptist Church. D. Wayne was a honorary member of the Masons. D. Wayne will be greatly missed by his wife, Joan; children, Cheri Huff of Punta Gorda, Fred McFarland of Punta Gorda, S. David McFarland of Seminole and Nancy Kwasnik of Port Charlotte; sister, Shirley McFarland of Sarasota; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth. No services are planned at this time. The family requests memorial donations be made to Sonshine Baptist Church, Port Charlotte.
