Clarence Emmet Martin, 85, of Punta Gorda passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011. He was born May 2, 1926 to Raymond and Zella (nee Pursley) Martin. Clarence served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked as an experimental mechanic for McDonald Douglas and as International Quality Control for Lockheed Martin until he retired. Clarence moved from Fort Worth, Texas to Punta Gorda in 2000 and was a member and bugler of American Legion Post 103. He was an avid sailor and had sailed solo around Long Island, NY. Clarence enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals play. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 24 years, Vikki Perrella; daughter, Victoria Martin; sons, Curtis, Pryde and Peter; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 103, Punta Gorda.
