Catherine C. Schillinger, 89, of Port Charlotte passed away August 10, 2007 at her residence. She was born July 26, 1918 in Lyerly, GA and moved to Port Charlotte from Valparaiso, FL in 1986. Catherine was a homemaker while also writing a column for the local newspaper in Valparaiso. She was a candystriper for the hospital auxiliary in Valparaiso, and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Port Charlotte. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 39 years, Richard Grey Schillinger; sons David Paul Horan of Key West, FL and Edward Warren Horan of Tallahassee, FL; daughter Janice Stump of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Catherine was preceded in death by her first husband Capt. Paul William Horan. The family will receive friends 2:00 - 3:00 pm, Tuesday, August 14, 2007 with the service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1303 Forest Nelso Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL. Burial will be at Eastview Cemetery in Rome, Georgia.
