Catherine A. Renz-Simms

Catherine A. Renz-Simms was the daughter of Harry and Patricia (Burroughs) Renz, born November 15, 1954 in Danbury, Connecticut. She moved to Venice, Florida from Danbury in 1986. Cathy was a dedicated advocate for children. She, her husband, Ray, and their daughters provided a safe, loving environment for many children in the Florida Foster Care system. Cathy touched many people throughout her lifetime and will be greatly missed. Cathy lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer on March 2, 2008 and leaves behind her husband, Raymond C. Simms; mother, Patricia Renz of Rotonda, Florida; daughters, Veronica, Rachel, and Johanna Simms of Venice, Florida; brothers, Gary (Nancy) Renz of Danbury, Connecticut, and Jeffrey (Loretta) Renz of Hilliard, Ohio; sister, Diane Renz of Boulder, Colorado; special nieces and nephews, and many well-loved foster children and friends. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Peter.
