Carroll Deweese

October 27, 1934 — December 6, 2021

Carroll J. DeWeese, 87, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on December 6, 2021. He was born on October 27, 1934, to Perry and Lynda DeWeese in Baraboo, WI.  Carroll was the youngest of the DeWeese children.  After graduation from high school, Carroll enlisted in the U.S. Army.  He was stationed on the same base with a guy named Elvis Presley.  They would drag race occasionally with their cars.

Following the Army, Carroll completed his education.  After graduation, he worked for IBM for many years as a Programmer, Engineer, and Sales Rep.  He then moved to a different type of work with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), which later became Electric Data Systems (EDS).  Carroll was the Regional Manager in the financial industry, giving him the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the USA.  This lifestyle introduced him to movie stars, government officials, corporate presidents, and other influential people.

Upon retirement, he moved from Wisconsin to Punta Gorda, FL, where he and Grace built a home and lived the life they always dreamed of.

Carroll will be deeply missed by his wife Grace; stepsons Mike Fuss (Sharyn), Mark Fuss (Marybeth), Kurt Monson, and Richard Monson-Haefel (Holly); stepdaughter Grace Ann Monson; step-grandchildren Mike Fuss Jr., Julie Curtis (Curt), Sean Fuss, Henry Monson-Haefel, Olivia Monson-Haefel, Oliver Monson-Haefel, Simon Monson-Haefel, and Judson Ayres Monson; step-greatgrandchildren Mike Fuss, Lindsey Fuss, Savannah Curtis, and Chandler Curtis; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Perry and Lynda DeWeese; siblings, Gaylord Edwin (Rose), Walter DeWeese, Isabell Brown (Ralph), Deloris Sliter (Bob), and Dea DeWeese (Mabel); wife Joyce DeWeese, stepdaughter-in-law Teri Fuss, and step-grandson Samuel Fuss.

Our family would like to thank all of the friends and neighbors in Punta Gorda for all of their help over the years.  Our family would also like to extend a special thanks to all the nurses and doctors in the ICU at Fawcett Hospital and a very special personal thank you to Marie, his dialysis nurse, and personal friend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to your favorite charity in Carroll's name.
