Carol Midgett, 64, of Punta Gorda passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Peace River Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. She was the daughter of Alfred and Dorothy (Marquis) Longwell, born September 6, 1946 in West Palm Beach, FL. Carol worked in the Purchasing Dept of the Charlotte County School Board. She was a long time member of Church of God of Prophecy. Family was always Carol's life, and she loved nothing more than being around them. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, her "Precious Angel" and "Princess." Carol will be remembered as a loving, dedicated mom, grandma, sister, aunt, friend, and employee. Carol will be greatly missed by her son, Kenny (Misty) Midgett; sisters, Nancy (Ervin) Lee and Glenda (Earl) Stripling; brother, Sidney (Jeannie) Lowe; grandchildren, Adam and Julia Midgett; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 36 years, Kenny Midgett, Sr. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday July 19, 2011 at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. The service in celebration of Carol's life will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 20 at Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will be at Indian Springs Cemetery.
