Carl E Rehm

Carl E. Rehm, 86, of Punta Gorda, formerly of Orchard Lake, MI. passed away April 23, 2017. Carl was commissioned in the USAF in 1950. He was a flight instructor and bomber pilot, serving with distinction. Carl served in the reserves and retired as a Major. Carl graduated from General Motors Institute and started his civilian career with GM. Carl quickly rose through the executive ranks at GM to become General Director of Fleet Sales at GMC Truck. Carl retired from GM in 1992 after 45 years of service to the company. Carl was an active member at his church, serving as an Elder, Deacon and in the Veteran's Group. Carl enjoyed golfing and sailing with his many friends and neighbors. He was also an active member of the CHYC. Dear husband of Barbara; beloved son of the late Carl and Caroline; loving father of Dr. Ann Rehm (Matthew O'Mara); dear grandfather of Alana and Sarah, and loved uncle to John Irvin (Kelly). A celebration of Carl's life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Port Charlotte, 2230 Hariet Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice.
