Bruce L. Moen, 62, of Willmar, MN, and part-time resident of Punta Gorda, FL, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008.. He was born March 13, 1945 in Madison MN, the son of Simon and Helen Moen. Bruce married Darlene (nee Hedin) in 1971 and was a dedicated partner and owner of West Central, Inc. for over 30 years. His many interests included traveling, wood working, boating, golfing, fishing, antique cars, piloting, farming and spending time with family and friends. Bruce was considered a best friend and brother to many and will forever be missed for his magnetic personality, sense of humor and love of life. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; her their three daughters and two sons-in-law: Rebbecca of Minneapolis., MN, Danielle and Brandon Johnson of Houghton, NY, and Laurel and Debashis Chowdhury of Laguna Niguel, CA; his three grandchildren; Marit, Luke, and Quin Johnson; his siblings, Claire and Sylvia Moen, Bradley Moen, and Colleen Rhodes; 11 nieces and nephews; and countless friends who are considered family. Two memorial services will be held the first at 10:30 am, Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Punta Gorda Chapel of Larry Taylor Funeral Home. The second will be held on Sunday, April 27 at 2:00 at Calvary Lutheran Church (302 Olena Ave SE) in Willmar, MN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lac Qui Parle Valley High School to support a scholarship in Bruce's name.
