Beverly M. Burke

Beverly M. Burke, 63, of Punta Gorda passed away October 13, 2009. She was the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Brown) Vitton, born October 5, 1946 in Hancock, MI. Beverly graduated from and received her Masters degree from Northern Illinois University; she was a teacher for West Chicago High School District 94 for 30 years. She came to Punta Gorda from Warrenville, IL in 2004 and volunteered at the Visual Arts Center of Punta Gorda. Beverly will be greatly missed by her husband, James Burke; mother, Margaret Vitton; daughter, Gerilyn (Geoffrey) Ahlers; step-children, James Burke, Jr., Michael (Caroline) Burke, Kimberley (Robert) LaFleur, and Kristi Burke; sister, Linda (Al) Mulvey; brothers, Dennis (Brigid) Vitton, Chuck (Carol) Vitton, Donald (MaryJo) Vitton, and Stanley (LouAnn) Vitton; and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. No services are planned. The family requests memorial donations be made to TideWell Hospice, 1144 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
