Betty Talburt

Betty Talburt, 83, of Punta Gorda, passed away May 23, 2006.She was born December 16, 1922 in Rochester, NY to the late Floyd and Mae (Powers) Blake. Betty came to Charlotte County by way of Miami where throughout the years she owned and operated a number of businesses: Mini Palms of Florida, Babette Handbags, Esquire Reporting and Esquire Travel. It was 2002 that she chose Punta Gorda to retire. Her four years in Charlotte County allowed her to make many special friends and acquaintances. She was also able to involve herself with organizations such as the Republicans for Environmental Protection, the Peace River Audubon Society and the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program to name a few. Betty will be missed by her son Ronald (Nadine) Driest; daughter Edie Driest and grandchildren Kyla and Jillene Driest. No services are planned at this time.
