Betty Sherman McMahon, a retired woman of many talents, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 in Punta Gorda, Fl. She was 85. Grandma Betty as she was known to so many, spent the last 40 years enjoying the Sun of Southwest Florida and had many professions through-out her 85 five years of life. But her greatest achievement didn't lie in the workplace. Betty was and will be always known for her love of family. She has left behind three children, Nancy Allman of Arcadia, FL, Robert (Noweda) Sherman McNeill of Johnston City, IL and Robin (Don) Lindecamp of Punta Gorda, FL; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild that will truly miss her love and straight-forward mentality. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Francis McMahon; daughter, Barbara Davis Neal; grandsons, Michael McNeill and Stephen Martin; great-grandsons, Shane Bunch and Paul Mailman, Jr. Betty's greatest accomplishment was her ability to bring family together for years at her Cape Coral Home. Swimming, fishing, and family get-togethers bonded the family with a sense of tradition and fond memories. Being a classic thinker meant she was sure to give you the shirt off her back, but not without the strong words you needed to get back on your feet. She truly had shoulders of immense strength with a heart to match. A private family service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc., 1444 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
