Betty Lou Holicki, 90, of Charlotte Harbor passed quietly on Feb. 19, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Jan. 1, 1925, in Sumner, IL and has lived in Charlotte County since 1968. Those who knew Betty appreciated her caring, gentle, unassuming manner that belied a quiet strength. She enjoyed being active and involved. Betty was a long standing member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Charlotte Harbor and was a volunteer in its food pantry program for many years. She is survived by her husband, John Holicki; daughter, Margie Blackwell of Punta Gorda; son, John Percifield of West Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren, Phebe Westby, Japhy Blackwell, Carrie Hussey, all of Punta Gorda, Eric Percifield of Reseda, CA, and Julie Percifield of Edgewater, NJ; great grandchildren, Eli and Bette Lou Westby, Lawton and Sadie Hussey all of Punta Gorda. A gathering of family and friends will be 4 to 5 pm, Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Charlotte Harbor with a memorial service to follow at 5pm. Memorial donations can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Animal Welfare League, both in Charlotte Harbor.
