Betty Jo Mayberry

Betty Jo Mayberry, 70, of Port Charlotte, FL went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2016. She was born March 15, 1946 in Goshen, IN to J. Clair and Dorothy C. Kauffman. She was raised in a loving Christian home and attended West Goshen Church of the Brethren. Betty Jo was married to Dave Williams and had 2 boys Michael and Gary Williams. Her 2nd marriage to Reginald Mayberry and had 2 children Lori Ann Perkins and Reginald C. Mayberry. She was avid sports fan; and loved to spend her days and evenings watching high school sports at Charlotte High School where her two youngest and both of their spouses attended. Betty Jo helped to run the concession at CHS with her daughter for many years. She loved CHS and she loves "her kids" as she called them. Many alumni called her a second mom. She was a good loving Christian that believed in helping others. Betty Jo was a member of United Methodist Women, where she was a local officer and held several District offices. She was currently the Social Acting Coordinator for the South West District and a community advocate and a member of Rebekah of Golden Rule Rebekah Lodge #60. Betty Jo will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mother, cousin, aunt and friend. Betty will be greatly missed by her brother, Dean (Ingrid) Kauffman; husband, Reginald Mayberry; sons, Michael Williams, Gary (Allison) Williams; daughter, Lori Ann (Scott) Perkins; son, Reginald C. (Tammy) Mayberry; many cousins, nieces, nephews and 1 grandson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Marie in 1942; father J. Clair Kauffman in 2003 and mother, Dorothy C. Kauffman in 2005. A memorial service to celebrate Betty Jo's life will be at 3pm, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at First Christian Church, Punta Gorda.
