Bernard J Adams

Bernard J Adams, 91, of Port Charlotte passed away April 2, 2018. He was the son of Bernard and Josephine Adams, born October 23, 1926 in Owensville, OH. Barney served in the US Army during WWII. He was a boiler maker in Ohio for 28 years before retiring; he was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Bethel, OH. Barney was a Boy Scout leader, and enjoyed radio-controlled planes, cars, and boats. He was a member of the Charlotte Sport Modelers Society Radio Controlled Flying Club and Southern Ohio Radio Controlled Racing; also American Legion Post 110. He loved hearing from his girls, and his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Barney will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Shirley; daughters, Roxann (Tim) Schneder, Becky (Scott) Szeghi, and Mary Jo (Steve) Miller; grandchildren, Tonya, Melissa, Shannon, Joey, Adam, Nathan, Ryan, and Tyler; and 10 great-grandchildren. No services are planned at this time. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
