Barbara J. Kelly, 78, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2019, surrounded by family. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 28, 1941. She completed her nursing training at Saint Vincent’s in New York City and practiced nursing in New York, Massachusetts, California, and Florida.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, knitting, and traveling the world. She was also a parishioner of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for the past 20 years.

Barbara was married to her high school prom date and the love of her life, Edward, for 58 years. She is also survived by her three daughters, Alison Kelly Hawke and husband John Hawke of Hamilton, MA; Karen Cox and husband Patrick Cox of Wellesley, MA; and Jacqui Thomsen and husband Randall Thomsen of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren Megan and Matthew Hawke, Kelly, Bobby, and Sean Cox, and Hunter and Paige Thomsen; and sister Carol Brennan Capaldo of Brookhaven, NY.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a memorial mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, FL on September 20, 2019, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider offering memorial donations to Tidewell Hospice at www.tidewell.org.
