Barbara E. Wilhite

Barbara Elizabeth (Kirchner) Wilhite, 78, of Marietta, SC passed suddenly on October 04, 2018. She was the daughter of Irvin and Inez Kirchner, born January 11, 1940 in Ft. Wayne, IN. Barb grew up on a farm in Ft. Wayne and often spoke of this life-style with fond memories. In 1955 she met the love of her life, Clarence Sonnie Wilhite. Barb was a devoted Christian, wife and mother. She was a member of the Praise Tabernacle Church for the past 15 years and will be missed by anyone who knew her. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and was always happiest when helping someone. Barb enjoyed doing crafts of any sort and was well known as the family spokesperson that kept everyone updated on current events. Barb will be greatly missed by her church sweetheart and husband of 64 years, Sonnie; sons, Jeffrey (Barbie) Wilhite of Punta Gorda, FL and Michael (Michelle) Wilhite of Punta FL; daughters, Tammy Thomas of Port Charlotte, FL and Sandra (Curtis) Jackson of Punta Gorda, FL; sisters, Elaine (Vince) Savona of Lovettsville, VA and Carolyn Caswell of Arcadia, FL; as well as 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. The service in celebration of Barb's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Praise Tabernacle Church.
