August J. Colo

August J. Colo, 92, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on May 25, 2021. He was born on May 23, 1929, to Alfredo and Josephine Colo in Newark, NJ.  August honorably served in the US Navy.  He was a Korean War Disabled Veteran and member of the American Legion. 

August earned his Ph.D. at Rutgers University and worked as a college Professor at Middlesex County College.  He served as Vice President of ATS RheoSystems. His hobbies included abstract painting, playing semi-pro baseball, watching the Yankee’s games, and spending time with his family.

August will be deeply missed by his daughter Diana L. Molimock; son Steven M. Colo; brothers Toby Colo and Alfred Colo; grandchildren, Frank Molimock IV, Tara Corwin, Steven J. Colo, his Great Grandchildren, Frankie Molimock V, Brielle Molimock; and granddaughter-in-law Chelsey Molimock; and grandson-in-law Ben Corwin. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Colo; parents Alfredo and Josephine Colo; and sister Anna Lavante.

A private service will be held by the family.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of the individual's choice is encouraged. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, St Jude’s Hospital, or the National Veterans Foundations.
