Audrey M. Rice

Audrey M. (Knapp) Rice, 84, of Norwalk, OH passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2021, in Punta Gorda, FL where she was spending Christmas with her children.   

Audrey was born in Duluth, MN to Kenneth Knapp and Frieda (Schubel) Knapp. She attended Hartland Grade School and New London High School. 

She is survived by her siblings, Chuck (Anne) Knapp of Youngtown, AZ and Patricia (Jim) Stevens of Greenwich, OH; children, Phyllis K. Campbell of Punta Gorda, FL, Mick D. Parsons, of Ashland, OH, and stepdaughter Helen (Tom) Love, Monroeville, OH; Grandchildren, Todd Boyd of London, OH, Heather (Michael) Lombardi of Sheffield Lake, OH, Kirsten (Nate) Phelps of Amherst, OH, and Neely Parsons (Jeff Burkholder) of Ashland, OH; great-grandchildren Lauren and Natalie Boyd and Bryce Parsons, as well as, many nieces and nephews whom Auntie Audrey loved dearly. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Frieda Knapp;  siblings, Gordon (Regina) Knapp of Litchfield, MI, Winfred (Glenna) Knapp of Wakemen, OH, Barbara A. Knapp of Toledo, OH; half-brothers Maurice (Mary) Ojard of Woodburn, OR, Russell (Roberta) Ojard of Olympia, WA, Gerald Ojard of Multnomah, OR, Lloyd (Ojard) (Marlyn) Boone, Minneapolis, MN, and her daughter-in-law, Anne Parsons. 

Audrey loved spending time with her friend, Mark White, and his family, playing cards, games, and socializing.  She spent many hours sitting outside on her swing talking to her neighbors and enjoying her flowerbed.  She also looked forward to the monthly meetings with her former schoolmates. 

Audrey was very family-minded and felt connected by scrolling through Facebook to see what her family was doing and enjoying their pictures.  She was looking forward to her granddaughter Neely’s upcoming wedding. 

She loved to laugh and found humor in everyday life, but she also had a great sense of compassion for those suffering. 

She will be greatly missed.
